Breakfast Near Camarillo

Honey & Herb is in Thousand Oaks, not Camarillo. We know that means getting on the 101, so the meal should feel worth the drive.

We make six kinds of waffles in-house, then take them well beyond the usual butter-and-syrup breakfast. They show up under eggs Benedict, around breakfast sandwiches, beside fried chicken, and in dessert. If someone at the table wants a classic eggs-and-potatoes plate instead, we have that too.

Why People Make the Drive

This is a full-service restaurant where you can actually settle in. Kids have their own menu and a big chalk wall, dogs are welcome on the patio, and our vegan and gluten-free waffles are cooked on dedicated irons. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can reserve through Resy.

Before You Go

We are at 765 N. Wendy Drive in Thousand Oaks. Hours are 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM Friday through Sunday. You can also check the menu and directions before leaving Camarillo.

We made a reservation for our Saturday brunch visit, and we ordered: * Vegan (Oyster Mushroom) Chicken and Waffles: Savory, crispy, and exceptionally flavorful—this plant-based twist on a comfort-food classic completely delivers on texture and taste. * Spring to Life Salad: Fresh, crisp greens tossed with vibrant toppings that provided a wonderful, light balance to the meal. * Kids Waffle Bites: A fun, bite-sized treat served with fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and chocolate. While the portion is a bit on the smaller side, it was thoroughly enjoyed. * Coffee: Freshly brewed and a great accompaniment to the meal. The atmosphere is welcoming and lively, and the menu creativity spanning everything from savory brunch plates to sweet dessert-style waffles makes it a standout local gem. It comes with a choice of side, and I chose the greens with tomatoes. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. I ordered it without sauce, and it was still excellent. The arugula added a really nice touch, and the presentation was beautiful and very thoughtfully done. I also had the fresh-squeezed orange juice with no added sugar, which was very fresh and delicious. The staff was very polite, the food came out quickly, and the service was fast and attentive. I had the chicken and waffles but make in fancy. So delicious...loved that the chicken was thin cut so you could get bites of everything.
